Maintenance Technician 1

This full-time position is responsible for providing maintenance support for cold chain facility operations.  You must be able to work in an environment with varying temperatures and moderate noise levels, bend and lift approximately 50 lbs. regularly, and work at heights (using ladders).

Job Location: Lumberton Area

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide general support to the maintenance department in a professional manner.
• Complete painting assignments, including working at heights.
• Maintain and replace forklift batteries, performing routine inspections and maintenance as needed.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including (but not limited to) inspecting fire extinguishers, logging monthly equipment hours, and checking emergency lighting and eyewash stations.
• Conduct regular building maintenance to ensure facility cleanliness, safety and functionality.
• Accurately complete work orders and maintain detailed documentation of all maintenance activities performed.
• Participate in training for various pieces of equipment in order to safely maintain, inspect, and potentially repair them.
• Support emergency response efforts as required.
• Successfully complete required annual emergency response physicals, including lung capacity and hearing tests, as required.
• With appropriate training, perform or assist with entry-level refrigeration tasks, as needed.

Essential Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Knowledge of general hand and power tools
• Previous maintenance experience, including preventative maintenance, preferred.
• Operate warehouse equipment and registered motor vehicle, as required.

Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm (First Shift)

Pay Rate: $15 per hour
