1st Shift: 7am – 3:30pm

Starting at $16/hr

• Read blueprints and drawings, take or read measurements to plan layouts.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Align components using calipers, tape measures, clamps etc.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal).
• Perform grinding, fit ups, design fixturing, welding per drawing.
• Inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Provide guidance and training for co-workers of less experience.
Requirements and Skills:
• Proven experience as a welder, 5+ years’ experience.
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG, TIG, Stick etc.).
• Ability to set-up and pass an ASME weld test.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rules.
• Pipe fit-up and positioned welding.
• Repair/Rework MIG or TIG.
• Experience using electrical or manual tools (grinders, cutters, squares/levels, calipers etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, blueprints, weld symbols.
• Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
• Skillfulness and attention to detail.
• Proficient in English.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Crane operation.

Physical and Mental Demands:

• Requires problem solving, interpreting data, and extended focus.
• Frequently involves sitting, standing, bending and twisting at the neck, grasping, fine hand manipulation, walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, twisting at the waist, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder level, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
• Involves driving a forklift, working around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to excessive noise, operating of foot controls and repetitive foot movement.
• Required to utilize protective equipment.

Experience Level:
• 5 years minimum required

Weekly Day Range:
• First Shift, Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed.
Ability to Commute/Relocate:
• ST. Pauls, NC: Reliable commute or relocate before starting work (Required).
