Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Framer to build and frame structures according to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing wood (or engineered lumber) framing components, and will follow safety procedures while working efficiently on job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and framing layouts
- Measure, cut, and assemble framing materials to required specifications
- Frame walls, floors, roofs, and openings (doors, windows, stairways)
- Install studs, joists, rafters, trusses, headers, and related components
- Ensure frames are plumb, level, and square
- Secure structures using fasteners, nails, screws, hangers, and other hardware
- Assist with rough-in tasks as needed and coordinate with other trades
- Follow all jobsite safety rules and use required PPE
- Maintain tools, keep work areas clean, and support efficient workflow
- Work effectively with a team and supervisors to meet project timelines
Required Qualifications
- Prior framing experience (residential, commercial, or industrial—specify)
- Ability to read plans and understand basic framing methods
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools (e.g., circular saws, nail guns)
- Knowledge of fasteners, layout practices, and measurement techniques
- Ability to stand, lift, and work on ladders/scaffolding for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable attendance and ability to follow instructions
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
- Construction certification or apprenticeship experience
- Experience with exterior wall framing, roof framing, or light timber framing
- Familiarity with local building codes and common jobsite practices
- Experience working with engineered lumber/trusses
Work Schedule / Location (Edit as Needed)
- Full-time: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Pembroke, NC
Payrate: $17.00 per hour
